The room at Old Hall Barn was super cozy, with a lovely bathroom that had both a bath and a shower. It was perfect for my relaxed evenings in after exploring all day. As someone who enjoys a good soak in the tub, I absolutely loved the deep soaking tub in the private bathroom. It was incredibly luxurious and made me feel pampered.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of the deep soaking tub. But hey, that's just me!

I absolutely loved the charming and cozy atmosphere of Old Hall Barn. The decor had a classic and elegant feel, with beautiful antique furniture and tasteful ornaments. It made me feel right at home. The hallways and common areas were well-maintained and easily accessible for someone like me, a senior woman. I appreciated the thoughtfulness put into the design to ensure comfort and convenience for all guests.
I would have loved to have more activities specifically tailored for senior guests.

The bathroom at Old Hall Barn was absolutely amazing! The deep soaking tub made me feel like I was in my own little spa retreat. It was so relaxing and the perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring. I couldn't have asked for a better bathroom experience.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of the shower in the bathroom.

The framed will of Mary Balguy hanging on the bar wall adds a touch of class. The tea room is a great option for special occasions. Complimentary WiFi and private parking are a nice bonus.
The bathroom ventilator was as quiet as a marching band.

Had a great xmas stay! The location was fantastic, close to the train station, shops, and pubs, and only a short drive to Castleton. The barn itself was beautifully decorated, with clean and fresh interiors. Loved the added touch of finding milk in the fridge. Great value for money!
On check-out, we waited for the host but they didn't show up until 10:30am, causing some confusion and frustration. Some of the finishing work in the kitchen was not up to standard, with unfinished edges and poor painting.

The bar at this hotel is truly unique, with a framed will from 1774 hanging on the wall. It's like taking a step back in time and adds a fascinating touch to your drinking experience.
Slightly wished for a later check-out time.
